Welcome to ruu.li, the rapid unified uri for legal information, a URL shortener for cases and legislation.

Preferences

Pick which site the "preferred" row above (and the bare, unprefixed route) links to, per jurisdiction, separately for case law and legislation. "official" is the jurisdiction's own court/government site where ruu.li knows one, otherwise it behaves like "classic" (AustLII). Every other route on this page ( /o/ included) always means exactly what it says, regardless of any saved preference.

Case law

Queensland
Commonwealth
New South Wales

Legislation

Reset all to official

Type or paste a citation below to go to your preferred site for it, configured per jurisdiction (separately for case law and legislation) via Settings - "official" by default. Share a link like http://ruu.li/1903hca1 and it takes you and your colleague to different sites if you've each chosen differently.

Bookmarklet

A bookmarklet is a litle piece of javascript that you can keep in your bookmarks bar. Install it by drag the link to your bookmarks bar, then use it to search ruu.li by selecting a citation and clicking on the bookmarklet. See this video for an example of how to use the bookmarklets.
